Shanghai Hosts the Roundtable Devoted to the Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route
In his introductory remarks, Mr. Iqbal Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways CJS State Company and the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, said that the transportation via this route started on 3 August 2015.The first series of transportation took place through the territories of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, and China, with Ukraine joining the partnership a bit later.
Mr. Iqbal Huseynov stressed the importance of carrying out such roundtable for the objectives of further promoting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
The roundtable also gave an opportunity for the participants to elaborate on the perspectives of this route’s attractiveness in terms of rail freight forwarding from and to China, the expansion of the geography of carriage of goods between Europe and Asia, as well as the development of international transport-logistics services provided by Express Nomad.
Few bilateral meetings took place on the sidelines of this roundtable with senior officials of railway administrations from Kazakhstan, Iran, Russia, and Ukraineas well as the German logistics company DHL.
