Baku hosted the quadrilateral meeting of ITTC development.
On December 7, 2016 the representatives of the railways of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Turkey held a quadrilateral meeting in CJSC “Azerbaijani Railways”.
The meeting was attended by the head of JSC “Azerbaijan Railways” Javid Gurbanov, President of JSC “Kazakhstan Railways” Kanat Alpysbayev, CEO of Turkish Railways Veysi Kurt and Chairman of JSC “Georgian Railways” Mamuka Bakhtadze.
During the meeting, the head of JSC “Azerbaijan Railways” Javid Gurbanov provided an information about the active participation of the country in the development of the international transport corridors, thanks to the support of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, about reforms in Azerbaijan Railways, on ongoing measures for improving transit potential of the country and for solving the challenges ahead.
Sides discussed prospectives of development of Trans-Caspian international transport route, increased cargo volumes transported by this route, and discuss the optimization of tariffs.
President of JSC “Kazakhstan Railways” Kanat Alpysbayev, CEO of Turkish Railways Veysi Kurt and Chairman of JSC “Georgian Railway” Mamuka Bakhtadze made statements about importance of the project “Trans-Caspian international transport route “ for the countries of this route and mobilizing all the efforts to attract cargo flow by this route.
At the end of the meeting it was signed a memorandum of understanding.
At the meeting was also attended by General Director of Baku International Sea Trade Port Tale Ziyadov and chairman of JSC “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” Rauf Veliyev.
