Head of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov received delegation led by Austrian minister
Head of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbaov has received a delegation led by Austrian Federal Minister of Families and Youth Sophie Karmasin. In the course of the meeting, the chairman of CJSC Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov informed the guests in about the transformations made on the country’s railroad, the current state of work to create important transit routes from the perspective of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars international transport corridors, North-South, “East-West”, “South-West”, strengthening the activities of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor as well as the forthcoming tasks.
According to Javid Gurbanov, in the future the project “South-West” initiated by Azerbaijan will turn along with other routes into the shortest, most profitable and efficient corridor for the flow of goods from Asia to Europe. There are ample opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Austria in the development of a railway network for the delivery of goods from China and India to Europe, taking into account the favorable geographical location of the two countries and their transit potential.
Further prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
In turn, Sophie Karmasin expressed satisfaction with the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan.
They underlined the importance of expanding the cooperation format so that it covers new areas of partnership between Azerbaijan and Austria.
