Another innovation on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway
Previously cargoes transported only by containers via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway today for the first time were transported in freight wagons. “ADY Express” LLC together with “AzRusTrans” transported grain from Russia to Kars in grain carriers (hopper). 12 wagons of grain were delivered to the station of Akhalkalaki, where change the wheel systems (bogies) of wagons was made and the cargo was sent to Kars. Grain has already been delivered to Kars station.
It should be noted that until today the cargoes on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway were transported only by containers. Containers at the station of Akhalkalaki continued their journey after transshipment of cargo to other platforms.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, commissioned on October 30, 2017, has a total length of 846 km, 504 km of which passes through Azerbaijan, 263 km – Georgia and 79 km – Turkey.
