The first export of Azerbaijani urea by railway
ADY Express LLC, a subsidiary of ”Azerbaijan Railways“ CJSC , has begun exporting the first cargo of urea produced at SOCAR’s Carbamide plant by railway.
Urea was transported in big bags of 800 kg each, the total was 1,984 tons. From the carbamide plant, trucks were delivered to H.Z.Taghiyev station, where 40 semi-wagon presented by ADY Express were loaded and sent off. Together with a Georgian partner, GR Logistics and Terminals company, ADY Express transports the carbamide to the Port of Batumi. From there, the cargo will be delivered by sea, to the recipent in Latin America.
In the near future, there are plans to transport a bigger cargo of urea.
Socar carbamide plant constructed in the territory of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park on January 16, 2019. The plant is capable of producing 650-660 thousand tons of urea products annually. About 70 per cent of the production volume is intended for export, which will allow the country to receive additional income of up to $ 160 million a year. SOCAR Carbamide plant is the largest project currently implemented in the non-oil sector, with a total cost of about 800 million euros.
