Mutual cooperation is expanding
The meeting with the delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Serzhan Abdikarimov took place at the ”Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC.
During the meeting, Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC Javid Gurbanov gave detailed information about the reforms carried out on the railway, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway connection, North-South and South-West transport corridors, International Trans-Caspian transport route, transport and logistics opportunities of Azerbaijan. He noted that strengthening the activity of international routes aimed at increasing the transit potential of the participating countries.
Speaking about the work done recently to strengthen the activity of the International Trans-Caspian transport route, Javid Gurbanov said that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are members of the Coordination Committee for the development of BTNM and are actively working to further expand the activities of this route. This route serves to increase cargo transportation from China to Turkey, as well as to Europe, and in the opposite direction.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation ties and priorities. Javid Gurbanov spoke in detail about the historically friendly relations between the two Nations. It was noted that the personal friendship of national leaders Heydar Aliyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev in the Soviet period and their mutual support in the years of independence became the basis of modern relations between the two countries. At present, these relations have reached a strategic level.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Serzhan Abdikarimov highly appreciated the work done by the Azerbaijani side in the process of international projects and in the expansion of relations between the two countries ‘ Railways. He also noted that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev mentioned the report of the world economic forum, according to which Azerbaijan ranks 12th in the world in terms of efficiency of Railways and 34th in terms of quality of Railways. The guest also mentioned with great satisfaction the merits of the head of state in the field of construction and reconstruction of Railways, improvement of railway services, noting the achievement of major successes in this direction, in particular, since the appointment of Javid Gurbanov as head of the railway Department. At the end of the meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of sincere dialogue, memorable gifts were handed over.
