In Baku was held the meeting between Azerbaijan and Iranian Railways
On February 7, Head of CJSC “Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov and Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, president of Iranian Railways Said Mahammadzade held a meeting.
They discussed Astara (Azerbaijan) and Astara (Iran) railway line construction, development of Astara terminal, North-South İnternational Transport Corridor and the status of implementation works at this moment. Head of CJSC “Azerbaijan Railways” Javid Gurbanov said that friendly relations between the presidents of two countries it is resulted in the strengthening of relations between the countries. At the same time, Javid Gurbanov spoke about the projects, the work done towards the implementation of the North-South International Transport Corridor, about launching the international train Nakhchivan-Mashhad-Nakhchivan and other issues.
Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, president of Iranian Railways Said Mahammadzade praised the one way from Astara (Azerbaijan) to the border with the Islamic Republic of Iran and noted that construction of 8.3 km of railways has completed. Moreover, he speaks about the launch of the international train Nakhchivan-Mashhad-Nakhchivan. He noted that Astara (Iran) and Astara (Azerbaijan) railway line will be launched in March and added that works continue on the Iranian side. This work includes the construction of the railway station and transhipment terminal.
At the end, it was decided to further expand bilateral cooperation between two countries.
