The next discussions were held on the “Corporate Strategy 2030” of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC
A video conference has been held on the project, which is being implemented under the agreement signed between Azerbaijan Railways and one of the world’s leading consulting companies, McKinsey & Company, in order to develop the “Corporate Strategy 2030”.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov noted that as a result of increasing attention to the railway sector and ongoing reforms, the Company’s financial obligations have been optimized, work has been started to upgrade the railway infrastructure and rolling stock, and operational efficiency is being developed. He also stressed the importance of joint efforts to develop the railway sector, emphasizing the steps taken to improve corporate governance in the country’s major government agencies.
It was noted that the establishment of a railway connection with Nakhchivan as a result of the liberation of our lands from occupation will expand the opportunities to influence regional transport flows and create new opportunities in the transport sector.
During the video conference, representatives of the consulting company made a presentation on the progress of the project. International experts in the railway sector presented the most successful examples in this field and provided relevant consultations, discussed the strategic goals of the company and other issues.
The meeting also discussed the issues of increasing the commercial potential of Azerbaijan Railways and attracting global cargo, as well as the impact of socio-economic issues in the region on the railway sector.
