The length of the Barda-Agdam railway, the reconstruction of which began in accordance with the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated November 24, 2020, is 47.1 kilometers. As part of the project, the existing Barda and Kocharly stations will be repaired, and the Tazakend and Agdam stations will be reconstructed. It is also planned to build 114 engineering structures. At present, design work of Barda-Kocharly-Tazakend railway has been completed, work is underway on the construction of a landfill, superstructure elements, artificial structures and design work of Tazakend-Agdam.
The length of the Horadiz-Agbend railway line, the foundation of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on February 14, 2021, is 110.4 kilometers. It will consist of 8 stations, and within the framework of the project it is planned to build about 300 artificial engineering structures. Along with the Horadiz station, seven more stations will be completely rebuilt – Marjanli, Mahmudlu, Soltanli, Gumlag, Minjivan, Bartaz and Agbend. Currently, a topographic plan using a drone has been created, a conceptual plan has been prepared, 39-kilometer section of land cleared of mines is being prepared, and construction of artificial structures is underway.
The length of the Fizuli-Shusha electrified railway line is 83.4 km. The project provides for the design and construction of two new stations – Fizuli and Shusha, as well as about 200 artificial engineering structures. Currently, topographic studies of the railway track have been completed and the design of artificial engineering structures is underway.
Along with the projects being implemented, the specialists of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC are developing new directions for the construction of railways in the liberated territories.
