Container transportation on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (BTNM) increased to a record level

The General meeting Of the Association of legal entities of the International Association “ TRANS-Caspian International Transport Route” was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The event was attended by a delegation headed by Javid Gurbanov, Chairman of the “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC.
At the meeting, it was noted that the growth of container traffic in 2019 by 71% (10.7 thousand TEU) is a historical record for transportation through the ports of the Caspian sea. Participants of the meeting stressed that the launch of a new feeder service between the ports of Aktau and Baku in April 2019 was one of the main factors driving the growth. The provision of this service in the Caspian sea has significantly accelerated the delivery of container trains, increasing the efficiency of railway transport. At the meeting, the results of the Union’s activities for 2019 were discussed, the composition of the board was approved. Sauat Minbayev, Chairman of the ”Kazakhstan Railway” JSC, was re-elected Chairman of the Union.
At the meeting, the issue of the exclusion of “Anaklia Development Consortium” LLC from the Association of Legal Entities of the International Assosiation of the “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” was considered. China’s “Xi ‘ an Continental Bridge International Logistics Co. Ltd.” and Kazakhstan’s “Aktau Sea Northern Terminal ” companies were accepted into the membership.
At the end of the event, the relevant protocol was signed.
