Activity of “Sharg” Wagon Depot under quarantine
In order to ensure uninterrupted railway transportation of goods in Azerbaijan, current and depot repairs of freight cars should be carried out in a timely manner. Therefore, “Sharg” wagon depot, located in Alat settlement, operating as part of “ADY Express” LLC, continues to operate under the special quarantine regime applied in the country in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), according to the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev and the decisions of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, ADY Express has introduced a special regime in the territory of the depot to continue the operation of the “Sharg” wagon depot. All necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of employees working in the depot. The depot has a shift mode, disinfection is carried out regularly, and employees are provided with personal protective equipment.
As a result, the repair process of wagons at the “Sharg” wagon depot has not been stopped. Work in all workshops operating under depot is carried out in the same way. The continuous manufacturing process allows for the timely completion of repair work on freight cars and their use in the transportation of goods. In general, during the first 3 months of 2020, current and depot repairs of 202 wagons were carried out at the “Sharg” wagon depot. Among them were 94 tankers, 42 open wagons, 4 covered wagons, 51 refrigerators and 11 platforms.
It should be noted that, “Sharg” wagon depot located in Alat settlement became part of “ADY Express” LLC in April 2018 and the renovation process started here from that day. In parallel with this, the technological process is underway and car-repair works are being continued.
Finally, once again we urge citizens to strictly observe the special quarantine regime applied by the government of Azerbaijan.
